The Flash
Mersharks
By nirejseki
This is two stories I combined into one book that remains, to this day, one of my absolute favorites. The world building, the characterization, the tiny details about the diffrence between humans and mersharks, the humor, the romance!!!!! I love reading this story over and over again and if the author ever adds another installment, I will die. This is the kind of story I love to read and want to write. This half-step to the right of our reality, with character that realize that's what's happening. IT"S SO GOOOOOOOD!!!
The cover, however, is awful. As my first hardcover book I did not understand how important it was that I have actual bookcloth instead of just applying the fabric. It pulled and tugged weird and the connection to the spine is floppy. But it still allows me to read one of my favorite stories. It has an iron-on title made with a label maker, a holographic mermaid cutout for accent and a joke, blue splash pages, a blue bookmark ribbon, and I would say it's got a floral theme.
Of Sharks and Men
He swims in the deep.
His tail beats slow, propelling him through the water with sluggish, lazy speed. His hands trail beside him, his fingers long and pointed, his eyes wide and vacant, his skin sleek and gelatinous, the tiny bones that comprised his spine casually realigning with every movement.
He doesn’t need to be fast.
Swimming in a Sea of Sharks
In which Barry Allen, intrepid marine biologist, meets two fascinating specimens a brand new species.
And are Leonard and Mick ever so happy to meet him, too...
